Ezel Cıvata Joins Forces with OBO Bettermann

Merger with the German family-owned group strengthens Ezel Cıvata's production capabilities, secures long-term supply chains, and opens the door to global growth.

Torbalı/Menden, 24 July 2026 — We are pleased to announce a major milestone in our company's history: Ezel Cıvata has entered into a strategic partnership with OBO Bettermann, one of Germany's leading manufacturers of installation systems for electrical infrastructure. OBO has acquired a majority stake in our company.

Connection elements are often small — yet their importance for quality, safety, and function is enormous. For more than a century, we have built our reputation in Torbalı near Izmir on precisely this promise: high-quality screws, nuts, bolts, and custom fasteners from our own production. With OBO Bettermann now at our side, we gain the backing of a strong international partner to take this promise even further.

Our company, headquartered in Torbalı, İzmir, operates on a 30,000-square-meter site. In addition to serving companies from the automotive and machinery sectors, we now provide services to renowned international companies and the OBO Group across almost every continent.

Two family-owned companies, one shared history

Particularly meaningful to us: our history — just like OBO's — dates back to 1911. Over the generations, what began as a hardware store has evolved into an internationally successful manufacturer with its own cold-forming facilities, automated electroplating, hardening plant, and state-of-the-art production technology. Today, more than 200 of our employees manufacture and distribute connection elements in a wide variety of designs, with a production capacity of approximately 15,000 tonnes per year.

Through this merger, we are combining our strengths and expertise in screws and connection elements with those of OBO Bettermann. Integration into the OBO Group creates a strong foundation for our continued growth — both in our traditional core areas and in new future markets and technologies.

The Kohen family, our owners, will retain a stake in the company and continue to manage Ezel Cıvata's day-to-day operations as before. For our customers, suppliers, and employees, this means the familiar points of contact and the quality you know from us will remain unchanged.
